Every room has heavy beams (vigas) spanning the ceilings in the traditional manner while thick plaster coats the walls of this all adobe vacation home. Hidden nichos and custom touches that grace this house add to the charm while the radiant floor heat warms the saltillo tile floors. Imagine living as the Taos Pueblo Indians have for thousands of years, but with all of the modern conveniences.

Just 5 minutes north of the town of Taos and 15 minutes from Taos Ski Valley the location of Tierra Madre is unsurpassed. It is convenient to all attractions yet very private. The house backs up to hundreds of acres of Indian land occupied only by an occasional wandering cow or Jack rabbit.

Spend a day cruising down the slopes of Taos Mountain, climbing to the top of Wheeler’s Peak, rafting the Rio Grande River or just sitting in the cool shade of one of the two walled patios with a glass of wine. The secluded hot tub is an excellent place to watch the many shooting stars in the black Taos sky.

If you like to entertain this house makes it easy. The gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances flows effortlessly to the living room and dining room. From there it is only a few steps out the French doors to the private walled patio with the Jacuzzi hot tub and wild flowers.

The master bedroom is situated in its own private wing with a private door to the rear patio. The master bath features a handmade vanity; Mexican punched tin mirrors, and a private whirlpool tub.

Every effort has been taken with the comfort of the guests in mind from down filled comforters, 7 person Jacuzzi, 2 private flag stone patios, to the espresso coffee machine and bread maker.

Prices start at $175 (low season summer); $200 (low season winter) with a 3 night minimum; Christmas and New Year $375 to $550 with a 5 to 7 night minimum over the holidays
